Hoyran Wedre Country Houses, on the coast 10 miles west of Demre, is an idyllic rural oasis of stone buildings spread over fields of aromatic plants. The guest house-actualy a cluster of traditional-style houses- sits 1640 feet up in the Taurus Mountains, with fantastic view of the sea. Antiques decorate the 16 rooms and puplic areas, and superb meals are prepared from products sourced or raised locally such as freshly made yogurt or lamb sautéed with oregano, green chile peppers, and home made olive oil- all from the guest house’s grounds.
